Gordon Chapel has digitized and indexed its Old Parish Registers for the benefit of family and local historians. The records were generally well kept but sometimes non-sequentially. In particular, Dean Christie left a series of entries on various pieces of paper which his successor, Canon Muriel, entered into the Register. However, Canon Muriel was not certain that these “scraps of papers” comprehensively recorded events and, indeed, he himself entered many of them in non-chronological order. There is, therefore, a degree of unreliability with entries from the late 1860s to the mid 1880s. As far as possible, they are sequenced correctly online.
